Reserve a Place to Sit in the CIE
Description
The Center for Intercultural Engagement is making limited space available for student use from January 18th through mid-February in an effort to keep our community safe. Five total spaces will be available for reservation in one-hour time increments. Students who need the space for more than one hour are welcome to make multiple consecutive reservations.
Reservations must be made at least 5 minutes in advance. The CIE's study spaces are only open by reservation. If you need to use the space and you do not have a reservation, you will be asked to leave.
In order to reserve a study space, students must select an available "seat" to reserve, and make a reservation for each hour of use they anticipate. Seats are not assigned. Because seats are not assigned, multiple-hour long reservations may be spread across multiple seats for the same student (for example, if you need the space for three hours, and seat 1 was not available all three hours, you could reserve seat 1 for the first hour, and the next available seat for the second two hours). When students arrive at the space, they may select the open seat of their choice (at a work table or in a large padded chair) as long as they observe safe distancing guidelines.
Student seating is at the discretion of the staff member managing the space, and students studying here must defer to staff safety guidelines regarding seating.
Only the front room of the CIE is currently available for reservations. The CIE is closed to group reservations until mid-February.
Face masks are required at all times in the Center. All food is prohibited in the center. Beverages may be consumed only if masks are repositioned immediately. Individuals should eat outside of the center, distance while eating, and avoid large groups. Sanitizing items will be left at the front desk including Hand Sanitizer, Sanitizing Wipes, Masks & Gloves. Air purifiers will be in use at the Center.
Anyone who does not follow the safety guidelines or follow staff safety guidance while in the space will be asked to leave.
